Author: I am a woman as well.. but today I look at the women acting so stupid in shopping malls searching for clothes and trying them on.. shoes.. bags.. endless..foolish.. why are we so stupid???????victims of the ads…..wasting away our hard earned cash and precious time as well..

Because from the first day of life we are complimented endlessly on our looks and attractiveness and choice of outfit.
Our role models as children are Disney princesses who wear beautiful dresses and end up rich.
We are given female dolls to play with and are encouraged to play dress up.
Commercials barrage us with My Little Ponies and Barbies and Bratz with little plastic hairbrushes and endless Velco-attached clothes.
In adolescence, our TV shows and magazines tell us we love shopping, sales, and shoes.
We our told yet again that our identities are on the outside of us, and we need to make them look pretty so that others will like us.
We start wearing makeup and trying to look older.
We end up reading Diary of a Shopaholic books.
Through the midst of this we are told that spending money is satisfying and fun, that decorating your house is fulfilling, that new clothes will cheer us up.
And we tell the women who don’t agree that they have let themselves go. That they aren’t taking care of themselves.
We’re even willing to pay up to thirty dollars for a black marker to draw under our eyelashes.
We’re laughing the whole time, even though as we laugh you can see the wide-eyed insanity bubbling underneath.
We totally lost and we’re trying to fill ourselves up with our beds, baths, and beyond.
We’re cash cows for consumerism and we can’t stop craving.
