I’m getting ready to start purchasing furniture and some of the more big ticket items, but I’m not sure where to do it. Target seems to have a limited selection and some of the things at Babies ‘R’ Us seem to be of poor quality. Where did you do most of your shopping (please exclude hand-me-downs, thrift stores, etc.)?
I registered at Target and Walmart. It was my first baby so I was picky and majority of the big things like the travel system and crib I liked had to be ordered from Walmart.com but its not a big hassle. Walmart will ship it to the Walmart closest to you so you dont have to pay for shipping. On the other hand, now that my son is here I find that I dont like Walmarts baby clothes. They seem to be for short and wide babies so all of my sons clothes that are from there fit in length but are really baggy. Target has a bigger selection, but everywhere it seems they have more girl clothes than boys, I cant wait to have a little girl. Both Walmart and Target are good for everything else like packs of onesies, sleepers, blankets, bottles and all that good stuff. I like Babies R Us for clothes but they can be epensive for everything else. Thats all that I have bought from there is clothes and a diaper bag, they have quite a big selection on those too.
The Burlington Coat factory in my area has some really great stuff. And they have a pretty large selection of baby furniture, bedding, clothes, etc. Their prices aren’t too bad either.

I registered at Babies R Us and Target and had good luck with all of the products I recv’d.
Babies R Us has by far the best selection of items.
