I feel a little behind only cause at 5 months i still have no big furniture, dresser, crib, carseat etc. i have clothes up the ass and bassinets and such…but where are you with buying baby stuff?

Don’t feel bad I’m 6 months pregnant and i’m in the same predicament you’re in. I have too many outfits, I have the bassinet but nothing else. I’m behind because I was planning to move and I wanted to get the major items once I got to the new place. Don’t worry you aren’t too behind. Make a list of all the items you need before you begin shopping and it should make things easier. Good luck

I think it depends on what number baby you’re on. With my first I was done by the time I was 6 months pregnant. With my son I waited to see what people got me at the baby shower and then went from there. It’s really not money smart to buy TOO much stuff for a newborn. They’ll grow out of most of the clothes before they even have a chance to wear it. With my son (2nd baby) I bought mostly onsies and jammies. A few cute outfits if it was special occasion. But honestly just some just jammies. Being a newborn born in december when it’s cold there really wasn’t much places we went. Except to appointments.

I didn’t really start getting anything until I was about 7 months pregnant. I never really saw the point in buying everything early when it was just going to sit around and gather dust. Now I’m almost 8 and a half months pregnant and I just got the carseat last week and still need to get more clothes.

I was very organised and had almost finished. Don’t worry though you have plenty of time left.

about 18 weeks when i found out i was having a girl i started with clothes and by 6-7 mts i had the crib and bassinet well. now im 33 weeks and i just finally got everything. at 5 mts its still early to have all the big stuff anyways unless u already have it or u find a sell. all it does is sit around for months and take up space so dont feel bad about it.

thank goodness yall answered like that because I was wondering the same thing at 23 weeks I have bought nothing..and feel like maybe I was falling behind..but I have a crib and changing table in route from a friend..but no clothes as of yet and Im planning on breast feeding but will be getting the pump as a gift from my sister..my sis is a mother of three and she said the same things to me that they have said on here about clothes to really see what I get as gift because the shower will be at 7 months or so and go from there buying basics like onesies, jammies, and a few cute outfits for doctors appointments or visting friends..because they will grow out of everything in a month or so and youll have to buy again anyway and its just not smart to buy all the clothes at once because the baby may grow at a faster or slower pace then you planned for..so thats what Im going to do and as for the carseat and things like that I registered for those so that a few friends might go in on it together and buy it as a shower gift…I already have a pack in play here sitting in the empty nursery and nothing else

I am still not done and I am 36 weeks.
I have all the mayor stuff like furniture and things, but I’m still not done with the small things.
I started shopping after 30 weeks. But to be fair this is my 2nd child and I realized that as long as you have the important necessities for bath and sleep u really don’t need that much. With my first pregnancy I was obsessed, which was fun honest be told. But this time I waited and actually I am glad that I did, because now that I am 36 weeks and at this stage you get that nesting feeling and anxious and bored of being pregnant so I can keep my mind occupied with the room and stuff..
But you still have lots of time, trust me…

I am 24w 6d now and I bought the crib at Babies r us when I was 16w pregnant. When they aren’t in stock, it can take months to get them back in and I didn’t want to risk that. I bought the dresser, stroller/car seat combo, changing table, exersaucer, swing, high chair which means I have all the big stuff already and I got that at about 20 weeks. I have lots of cute pink clothes and my husband has started painting the babies room today. I know during the summer, I am not going to want to baby shop when I am huge and uncomfortable.

We want to have everything by the time I am 30w. To be honest, I think the next 15w is going to fly by for us so I am glad that I started out early.
